Matthew 25 is Trinity’s outreach committee. Please come next Sunday, October 27, at 9:00am to learn more and share your ideas! All are invited to suggest outreach projects in which Trinity members could be involved or that the church could fund. If you have questions, speak to Daryl Mark or Richard Thomas for more information.
This fall, to help deepen both our faith and our connection with each other, members of the Trinity Parish Vestry are hosting in their homes a series of dinners. "Walk In Love" dinners will be held on the following dates:
Saturday, October 26, from 1:00-3:00 at Martha's home. (Childcare is an option for the 26th at Martha’s home. Please let Martha or Fr. Miller know if you need childcare.)
Monday, November 4, from 6:30-8:00, at the Rectory (where Fr. Miller lives).
Saturday, November 9, from 1:00-3:00, at Paul's & Juan's home.
At each of these dinners, in addition to food and fellowship, there will be an opportunity to share stories in response to an open-ended question such as "Why Trinity?" or "Who has been important to you in your faith journey?" or "Tell of a time when you knew that God was with you."
No need to bring anything save yourself and a willingness to listen and perhaps to share. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board outside the coffee-hour room.
What is an experience of collaboration you have had in your life that demonstrates how we combine our skills to create community?
As a minority member of Trinity Cathedral,Sacramento, I am grateful for the opportunity to reflect on the stewardship theme and the call to “Walk in Love.” My journey to this community began nearly 30 years ago when I immigrated from Sierra Leone in West Africa to pursue a better life for myself and my family.
Since then, I have been blessed to serve in various capacities within my church and broader community. My involvement as an usher, livestream volunteer, lector, vestry chaplain, and Eucharistic minister has been a source of great joy and fulfillment. These roles have allowed me to express my dedication to the Anglican Church, a commitment that has been a central part of my life since childhood.
My life’s journey has provided me with a unique perspective on the concept of stewardship. As the African proverb goes “It Takes a Village” expresses the notion that success and overcoming obstacles frequently involve the assistance, collaboration, and group effort of others, which was deeply ingrained in my upbringing and highlighted the value of community, cooperation, and team work in achieving long- term objectives.
This makes me aware of the value of community, the importance of supporting one another, and the power of love in transcending cultural boundaries. Stewardship, to me,is about more than just financial contributions—it is about giving of oneself, sharing one’s talents, and fostering a spirit of love and inclusivity within the community. Matthew 25:14-30is a parable that teaches about the importance of using one’s talents or abilities wisely.
As I reflect on the phrase Walk in Love, I am reminded of the profound impact that love can have when expressed through our actions.
Walking in love demonstrates care and concern for others, fosters a sense of belonging, and builds a community rooted in compassion and empathy.Through this lens of love, I approach my stewardship responsibilities, seeking to nurture a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Together, let us walk in love, embracing our differences and nurturing a community where everyone can thrive and contribute their unique gifts to the greater good.

We will celebrate All Saints on Sunday, November 3. All Saints is the feast in which the Church remembers the one communion and fellowship of saints, both past and present, and it is traditional to remember in the order of service that day loved ones who have died. If there are deceased whom you would like to be remembered in the order of service, please send their names to the parish office by Wednesday, October 30.
The parish vestry voted in 2022 to go "mask friendly"; that is, unless otherwise indicated, masks are optional at Trinity Parish. Please note that, pending further guidance from the Diocese and local infection rates, the church may in future return to requiring face coverings for in-person gatherings.
Located at 11 Homer Street in Newton Centre on the lower level of Trinity Church, the Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a member of the Greater Boston Food Bank. It is open most Tuesdays from 2:30–5:30pm and the third Saturday of each month from 11:30am–2pm.
